Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena entered the octagon yet again in a highly anticipated rematch after their first match ended in a shock upset. In their first matchup, Pena upset the odds and beat Nunes.

However, this didn’t let Amanda Nunes down and she was determined to get her title back this time around. Shortly after getting the win over Pena and dominating her for five rounds, Nunes suggested that this was the challenge she needed.
In a post fight interview with the UFC, ‘The Lioness’ said:
“I cannot be the champion if I don’t have the challenge in front of me. So, Julianna was the challenge that I needed to be the lion, that I am back. So, I’m very happy right now and I can’t wait to see my family, go to Brazil, relax a little bit. Three years without my family, so now I’m going to go there.”

Its safe to say that Amanda Nunes is content with her dominant performance over Julianna Pena and can’t wait to meet her family.
However, as soon as she got her title back, rumors surrounding her future also started to stir up. While there was a considerable difference between Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena in their rematch, the scores between the two are equal and we could definitely see a trilogy happening. Apart from this, she can also take on her former foe Valentina Shevchenko.
With that being said, it remains to be seen as to what’s next for Amanda Nunes following her win over Julianna Pena in their rematch.
