Rachel Yankey launched the first official fantasy football game of UEFA Women’s EURO 2022. She is a former footballer and current brand ambassador of the Starling Bank.
“I’m so excited to build my first fantasy team that features England Lionesses. When I was growing up there was nothing like this. I hope that fans both young and old can really enjoy building their teams and embrace the journey that Women’s soccer has been on to get to where it is today,” Rachel Yankey said.

She added, “As a youngster, I shaved my hair and pretended to be a boy just to fit in. Nowadays, the final for this tournament has already sold-out Wembley Stadium before a ball has even been kicked. However, the playing field isn’t level yet – every move towards equality makes a big difference.”

To strengthen women’s football, Starling Bank has launched a publication on women’s soccer publication named ‘Girls on the Ball’. The objective is to provide regular match analysis to increase engagement with the tournament and assist the fantasy managers to design a strategy to win.

The UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 is starting on 7 July 2022 at 12:30 am IST and will end on 31 July 2022. The Indian football fans can watch the tournament LIVE on the SonySix channel. It will be live-streamed on SonyLiv and Jio TV.
