Q. How will the English teams such as Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea fare in the Champions League against Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and PSG?
Mark Seagraves: “Real Madrid are ahead in the La Liga but they’re not the same team they have been in the recent times. PSG have had a good squad but never quite got the ammunition to get them over the line. You just got to look at the teams in the Premier League, Liverpool, Manchester City and obviously Chelsea have probably got one of the best squads in European football not necessary the best 11 to go out on the field, but I just think that the Premier League over all the other leagues is stronger and the teams have much more depth in their squads.

So I think it will go to one of the English teams this year around, Bayern Munich are always going to be there in their whereabouts but I just think PSG, you know the problem with PSG is the league they play in it doesn’t test them and when they come to play in the latter rounds of the Champions League the Round of 16, Quarter-final, Semi-finals they’re playing against the best of the best in Europe with that lack of playing against teams week in week out finds them out on occasions, but I think if you ask me and a Liverpool supporter myself I think if Manchester City can play to what they can play to not necessarily how they played against Tottenham in the weekend, they are the team that can finally for Manchester City win the Champions League because on their day they are irresistible and they can beat anybody. But I just edge Manchester City over Liverpool for me.”

Q. How will the scrapping of the ‘Away goal rule’ affect teams like Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and Juventus? Will it change football in any way?
Don Hutchison: “I think it will make them more defensive the away sides, I quite like the away goal rule I think it puts a little emphasis on the away side’s trying to get the away goal. Teams can try to go for a 0-0, there is no real emphasis on the away team to score if they get a 0-0 they are quite happy, I think we have changed and I am not a fan”

Q. Chelsea who won the FIFA Club World Cup, Carabao Cup Final and are still in the FA Cup but with many injuries piling up along with fatigue. Do you think Chelsea will be able to defend their Champions League title?
Don Hutchison: “Yeah, I have read reports that Ben Chilwell and Reece James are on their way back and are not far away so that’s good news for Chelsea fans and that’s where they supply so many assists from wide areas they seem to struggle through the middle as Lukaku’s form is a mystery as he had just 7 touches in the game against Crystal Palace and that’s a worry. When you look at individuals and you look at the manager Thomas Tuchel and you look at the players he’s got to work with, I’d fancy them to go through against Lille and they have got an important Cup Final against Liverpool at the weekend and they need to hit a little bit of form to get the momentum going.”

Q. With Liverpool playing Leeds the point gap could be reduced to 3 points in the Premier League. Will this put more pressure on Manchester City in the Premier League and most importantly the Champions League?
Don Hutchison: “Absolutely, If Liverpool do beat Leeds which I expect them to do, as you said it takes the points total back to three and then Manchester City play Everton at Goodison and granted Everton are not in good form but at Goodison they might be a different animal. The atmosphere will be hostile and it will be a hard game for City and then it puts the pressure back in the Manchester City in the Champions League because that’s what Pep wants. Man City are a great team elite team but they might not be considered the best team if they don’t win the Champions League and that’s putting all the pressure on Guardiola and Man City as a club but domestically they are best we’ve ever seen.”
