The Club is awaiting the PCR results ahead of the busy Christmas period and crucial Europa Conference League clash in order to secure qualification to the next stage.
Up to six unidentified first-team players and two members of the backroom staff have returned positive tests. It is not yet confirmed which players or members of staff have tested positive for the virus. According to the government guidelines, anyone who returns a positive test must self-isolate for 10 days, which would see those affected miss their home game at Rennes, their trip to Brighton and next Thursday’s Premier League game with Leicester.

They will now undergo PCR tests on Tuesday to confirm the results before any decisions are made on how to proceed over the upcoming fixtures. Antonio Conte’s side have a must-win Europa Conference League game against Rennes on Thursday night before facing Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
While Spurs are reportedly considering a request to postpone their visit to Brighton, their home game against Rennes will most likely go ahead given how UEFA rules states that ties are only placed into jeopardy ‘if less than 13 players registered on the A list or no registered goalkeeper are available.’

Tottenham are currently second in the Conference League and if Vitesse get a better result than Spurs then they will have to head home. If both the teams lose their matches then Tottenham will go through due to a greater goal difference.
There is no doubt preparations for these games will definitely be impacted and should the PCR tests confirm the cases the games themselves could be impacted. This is not the first bit of trouble the London club have had with the virus this season, having recorded two positives earlier in the campaign.

Tottenham have found form in recent weeks, winning all of their last three league matches. They cruised to victory over Norwich on Sunday thanks to strikes from Lucas Moura, Davidson Sanchez and Son Heung-min.
