Tokyo Olympics: Gold medallist Tom Daley was seen knitting in the stands on Sunday during the Women’s 3m Springboard Diving Final at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre on the ninth day of the Olympic Games. The British superstar won the gold medal in the Men’s synchronized 10m platform with partner Matty Lee. Tokyo Olympics: His latest creation is a woollen pouch to keep his gold medal won at the Tokyo Olympics. In honour of the event, Daley knitted the Union Jack on one side, while the flag of japan was stitched on the other. He said, “I don’t normally post things that are not necessarily knitting related on my ‘Made With Love’ page, but myself and Matty, my synchro partner, won the Olympics yesterday. I thought I would come on here to just say the one thing that has kept me sane through this whole process is my love for knitting and crocheting and stitching.”

Tom Daley will now be competing for gold in the individual 10m platform on Friday. It will also be the last event in the diving programme at Tokyo Olympics. Tom and Matty Lee beat China by just 1.23 points after a nerveless display as Daley collected his third Olympic medal. The 27-year-old had won the bronze medal in the 10 m platform at the 2012 Olympics Games in London, and followed it up with another bronze in the 10 m synchro at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
