TKR beat JAM, CPL 2021: Trinbago Knight Riders thrash Jamaica Tallawahs twice on the back of Ali Khan’s four-fer: Kieron Pollard-led Trinbago Knight Riders made it a double over Rovman Powell-led Jamaica Tallawahs on Tuesday with a massive 75 runs win on the back of Ali Khan’s brilliance (4-6 in 3 overs).

Put into bat, Trinbago Knight Riders posted a competitive total of 167/4 on the board, courtesy to Lendl Simmons (42 off 39), Kieron Pollard (39* off 18), and Tim Seifert (24* off 8). However, what really turned out to be a match-winning performance came from Ali Khan who sent back Jamaica Tallawah’s top three within the powerplay. Chasing 168, Tallawahs were reduced to 21/4 in the powerplay and the run-chase never took off. They folded up at 92 runs in 18.2 overs, falling short of 75 runs off the target.

Earlier, Kieron Pollard-led Trinbago Knight Riders registered 7 wickets win over the Rovman Powell-led Tallawahs when both teams first met in St Kitts on Sunday.

“This is my first game of this CPL, I wanted to come and make my mark, very happy. Lot of confidence from the coaching staff, captain, and my teammates, without them it wouldn’t have been possible. In my absence, he (Rampaul) he’s been the leading wicket-taker. I love playing here in CPL, I love coming to the Caribbean. It’s one of the best leagues around the world. I love coming here and bowling. We had a shaky start but we are taking one game at a time, for me, it’s one ball at a time. I have been getting a lot of messages from my fans that why I am not playing. To the TKR fans, this is all for you guys, love you,” said Ali Khan – the player of the match as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Trinbago Knight Riders have now climbed up to the second spot in the points with four wins and three defeats in seven encounters whereas Jamaica Tallawahs are languishing at the bottom second spot with just two wins in six games played so far.
