The Hundred: From Harmanpreet Kaur to Shafali Verma, 3 Indian women cricketers who can set The Hundred on fire – India’s T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur and teen batting sensation Shafali Verma will be representing the Manchester Originals and Birmingham Phoenix respectively in the inaugural edition of The Hundred in the UK starting on July 21. The duo will be joined by opener Smriti Mandhana, all-rounder Deepti Sharma and batswoman Jemimah Rodrigues in the 100-ball tournament involving eight men’s and women’s teams. While 17-year-old Verma, who is the No. 1 ranked T20 batter, joins Birmingham Phoenix as a replacement for New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, Sharma will turn out for the London Spirit.

Harmanpreet Kaur

India captain, who is known for her explosive batting show in the middle order, has played in Women’s Big Bash in past. Harman has played 117 T20Is in which she has scored 2254 including one century and six fifties. The Hundred will be a new challenge for Harmanpreet.

Shafali Verma

India’s newest batting sensation Shafali Verma will look to continue her great form in 2021 in The Hundred. Shafali has played 25 matches in which she has scored 665 runs at an average of 27.70. The highlight of her career is the strike rate. The right-hand batter has a strike rate of 145.19. The 17-year-old has scored three fifties in T20I cricket. She is also going to play in the WBBL later this year.

Smriti Mandhana

India opening batsman Smirti Mandhana is also all set to try her luck in the league. In the 81 T20Is that Mandhana has played, she has scored 1901 runs at an average of 26.04 and strike rate of 121.31. She will be opening the batting for Southern Brave.
