Dhoni vs Fleming in World Cup: One of the country’s all-time greats, former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming joined up with the Black Caps as they continued their preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Fleming became IPL’s most successful coach on Friday after leading the CSK to their fourth title triumph and will be working along with head coach Gary Stead.
The former captain hasn’t held a full-time coaching role with NZ, having dabbed his hands at roles in only franchise cricket so far.

Dhoni vs Fleming in World Cup: Fleming will not be around for the T20 World Cup, as he is not listed amongst New Zealand’s support staff for the tournament.
Nonetheless, the ex- NZ skipper will see a familiar face in the opposition dugout when New Zealand face off against India in the group stage of the tournament. Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has been appointed as mentor for the Men in Blue, his first non-playing role, and wicket-keeper will be keen to have the better of New Zealand, countering any advice Fleming might have given to deal with Team India’s threat.

Team India will look to MS Dhoni to potentially help them beat New Zealand, who have been India’s bogey team in the T20 World Cup. In the two games played between the sides at the competition, the Black Caps have registered wins in both, including a convincing 47-run victory in the 2016 edition, bowling India out for just 79. Overall, both teams have won eight matches each, with India clinching a 5-0 whitewash in New Zealand at the start of 2020.

New Zealand will begin its campaign against Pakistan in the Super 12 stage at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on October 26. New Zealand will play India three days later at the Dubai International Stadium. Besides Afghanistan, there will be two qualifiers from Round 1 in Group 2 of the Super 12 stage.

Australia, England, South Africa and the West Indies along with two qualifiers will form Group 1 in Super 12s. The tournament will start in the UAE and Oman on Sunday with the final scheduled to be held here on November 14.
