Which matches can decide the semi-final contenders?
1. NZ vs SL, Oct 29: The NewZealand vs SriLanka Super 12 Group 1 contest at the SCG on Saturday will turn out to be crucial. Zimbabwe have three points in their kitty from two matches after upsetting heavyweights Pakistan. Bangladesh have two. 3. IND vs SA, Oct 30: What can dictate Group 2 is India vs SouthAfrica clash on Sunday. And the equation stands pretty simple for the Men in Blue who have registered two wins on the trot. A win for the Rohit Sharma-led side will mean that they will virtually qualify for the semi-finals. Their next two opponents will be Bangladesh and Zimbabwe and only a win would be enough for them to guarantee Top 2 spots.
4. AUS vs IRE, Oct 31: Defending champions Australia will have a chance to put themselves back in the race if they win against Ireland at The Gabba. Australia are currently tied at three points along with New Zealand, England and Ireland after three matches.
A win for the hosts will give them a better chance to qualify for the semi-finals with Afghanistan as their final opponent. It should also be noted that England will have their task cut out as they will face table leaders New Zealand and Sri Lanka in their last two games.
5. ENG vs NZ, Nov 1: Provided rain doesn’t play anymore spoilsport, at least 1 semifinal berth will be sealed in the match ENG vs NZ clash. England’s hopes have taken a hit after their loss against Ireland. For NZ, two win in remaining 3 games will be enough. For England though, all two remaining games are must-wins to avoid an NRR shoot-off.

- Pakistan having lost to India and Zimbabwe have made it almost impossible to qualify for semis from Group 2.
