Virat Kohli Future Plans: Ojha backs Kohli to play games after the break to help regain confidence – The former India off-spinner feels Kohli does not have a problem skill-wise. Ojha reckons he is batting well, but Kohli should regain confidence by playing more games before the T20 World Cup.
“By comeback, I am talking about getting runs. Once a batter of his caliber gets a few runs going, then things change drastically. And I am sure as I am hearing that after the West Indies tour, he will be going for all the series thereon. I don’t think he will take any breaks, which is a great thing. He should be doing that. I don’t think there is an issue with his skill or anything else. He’s been batting brilliantly, but sometimes how you handle yourself mentally matters. Keep in mind the schedule.

Virat Kohli Break: Why does Ojha feel Kohli is taking breaks regularly?
- Ojha feels the legendary batter is not yet in the proper mental frame after the COVID-19 pandemic and that is why he is taking breaks
- The IPL Governing council member further opined that Kohli wants to get into the zone before finding form.
- The former India captain is currently in Paris and is completely unwinding himself without the paparazzi and people disturbing him.
- Ojha reckons there is no problem in the batter with regards to technique and he just needs game time.
- It is to be noted that the BCCI selectors want Kohli to play the ODI series against Zimbabwe to help him regain form.
“When you look at Virat’s batting, it is not about the skill or that he’s not timing it well or his fitness has taken a beating. He’s just there, and I think better than others with his work ethic and discipline. The only thing is that maybe mentally he’s a little caught up somewhere. Maybe that’s why he’s been regularly taking breaks,” Ojha added.
