Swiss Open Badminton LIVE: Selvaduray beats Nehwal Twice Swiss Open champion Saina Nehwal has crashed out of Swiss Masters. She lost to Malaysia’s Kisona Selvaduray in the second round 21-17, 13-21, 13-21. The duo met each other for the second time in their career after Saina Nehwal thrashed her at 2021 Thailand Open 21-15, 21-15. Swiss Open Badminton Highlights: Twice champion Saina Nehwal enters round 2, makes lightwork of France’s Yaelle Hoyaux in straight sets

Nehwal had earlier defeated Spain’s Yaelle Hoyaux in straight games 21-8, 21-13, in a match that lasted for 31 minutes in the opening round.

On the other hand, Selvaduray beat Switzerland’s Nadia Fankhauser 21-13, 21-11 in the opening contest. The World No.64 faces an uphill task against 2011-12 Swiss Open champion Saina Nehwal.

Saina Nehwal had earlier lost to All England Badminton champion & World No.2 Akane Yamaguchi in her last outing. The Former World No.1 Nehwal is on a trophy drought since the 2019 Indonesian Masters.

The 32-year-old had also reached the Swiss Open semifinals twice besides winning the crown in 2011-2012 but she has been out of touch since 2021 Orleans Masters SFs. In fact, the 2020 Spain Masters Quarterfinals is the last big achievement besides the Orleans semis in the last 2 years.
