End of Powerplay; Strategic Timeout taken

Warner falls after drama; SRH go 2 down

Excellent seaming delivery from Siraj which followed Warner who was trying to back away. Cut him in half and maybe kissed the glove on its way to the keeper but it was also very close to the body. The umpire was not sure of it and gave it not out but the third umpire overturned the decision after multiple replays as there was a spike on UltraEdge.

Washington Sundar into the attack and Warner welcomes him with a boundary. The next ball is a no ball and a free hit as ABD broke the stumps before the shot was offered. Thankfully the free hit only accounted for a single, which brought Pandey on strike and Pandey punched through the gap between mid-off and extra-cover to add another boundary. 12 from the over.

Navdeep Saini steams in with a brilliant opening over as he gives just two runs. Warner and Pandey are off the mark. The fall of Goswami should not have any bearing on the two batsmen out there in the middle.

SRH- 4/1 after 2 overs; need more 128 from 18 overs

RCB-118/7 after 19 overs

Wicket on the first ball of the over for Natarajan. And almost another on the second with de Villiers hitting it to Warner at long on on one bounce. But Natrajan makes sure he comes back again later in the over with a deadly yorker to clean up the best RCB batsman on the night. Just 2 off the over and two wickets to finish with.

RCB-113/7 after 18 overs

Sensational from Natarajan!

Natarajan removes AB de Villiers with one screamer. A deadly yorker and even Mr 360 did not have the answer for it as the middle stump was castled. RCB seven down. ABD goes for 56 made off 43 balls.

Natarajan strikes; RCB go 6 down

Washington Sundar goes! Fuller from Natarajan and Sundar glided it to man at deep point, Samad, who ran in a few steps ahead and took a safe catch with both hands. RCB six down.

Sandeep Sharma back to bowl his last over in the 17th. Sundar comes out slashing, but only for singles- seven runs off it.

RCB-111/5 after 17 overs

100 up for RCB

Fifty for De Villiers and what a fighting innings this has been from the South Africa. He needs to tee off in the final four as anything over 150 will be competitive score. Meanwhile, Holder picks a three-wicket haul.

RCB-104/5 after 16 overs

Fifty for De Villiers

RCB lose half their side; Strategic Timeout taken

Dube gone, after struggling consistently. Yorker length from Holder, and Dube wanted to flick it leg side, leading edge went to Warner at mid off. RCB now five down.

Nadeem continues in the 13th. ABD slashes for four, getting his strike rate above 100 for the first time.

RCB-76/4 after 13 overs

Rashid continues. Shivam Dube, the new man in, is struggling against Rashid. Twice in the over, he looked to play him late when there was no room really to do so and almost got him out plumbed. Top over from the spinner. Just 3 off the over.

RCB-68/4 after 12 overs

Eventful over from Nadeem!

Nadeem strikes to remove Finch as the batsman succumbs under pressure. Nadeem then bowls a no-ball and Moeen Ali gets run-out off the free-hit as Rashid Khan with a direct hit has handed Sunrisers control

RCB-65/4 after 11 overs

Moeen Ali run out on a Free Hit

Nadeem fired one in and it was right under Moeen’s bat, he hit it to man at extra cover, Rashid, who collected the ball and watching the batsmane stealing a run, took an aim and hit the stumps. RCB have lost a wicket on Free hit.

Finch falls, RCB 3 down

Aaron Finch departs too early after smashing a few biggies. Full outside off and Finch lofts it towards sweeper cover. Abdul Samad runs and grabs an easy catch.

Fifty comes up for RCB; We reach the halfway mark!

Rashid continues after the end of time out. Good intent from Finch, he smashes Rashid for a six. Risky single on the last ball by ABD. He needs to get a move on for sure. He is 14 off 18 balls with no boundaries or six. Nine off the over. RCB-54/1 after 10 overs

RCB-37/2 after 7 overs

End of Powerplay

RCB-32/2 after 6 overs

Ab de Villiers and Aaron Finch have a huge task in their hands and given the fact that even Padikkal is back in the hut, a lot depends on how these two experienced batsmen play.

RCB-23/2 after 5 overs

Holder continues and strikes again. Horrible start for RCB, Paiddkal gone. He had to go big now and has fallen in the process. ABD in, big heave from him on the fifth ball, missed it completely. SRH on top. In complete control of the game. Five off the over and a wicket.

RCB-15/2 after 4 overs

Holder strikes again; Padikkal falls for 1

Padikkal gone as well now. RCB two down early in the powerplay. Short ball and he pulls, tries to go over mid-wicket but Garg placed there times his jump to perfection and takes a very good catch.

Sandeep Sharma continues in cruise control in the 3rd over. Four dot balls faced by Padikkal. Excellent from Sandeep Sharma as he gives just a single ton end his second.

RCB-10/1 after 3 overs

Jason Holder strikes early to remove Virat Kohli. Holder uses his height to get that extra bounce with a shortened length, Kohli was moving and the ball kissed his glove while he was trying to tuck the ball to the on-side. Aaron Finch joins Padikkal.

RCB-9/1 after 2 overs

RCB lose Kohli cheaply!

Big wicket for SRH, Holder removes Kohli. Ball coming in to Kohli, with some extra bounce off the pitch, around his wait and Kohli wanted to guide it to fine leg, but ball brushed his gloves and went to keeper who took a safe catch.

Virat Kohli opens the batting with Devdutt Padikkal and both batsmen are off the mark. Decent start from Sandeep Sharma.

Toss Results

SRH wins toss and opts to field first.

Virat Kohli – It could go both ways, we would have bowled first. But runs on the board could prove crucial. The last game opened up completely, when you haven’t qualified, the nerves will come. It’s an exciting time, it’s been a leasure to play here. The seniors will have to take up responsibility, let the youngsters play freely. Chris Morris misses out with a quad injury, Joshua Phillipe is out as well. Aaron Finch is back, so is Adam Zampa. Saini replaces Shahbaz Ahmed

David Warner – We will bowl first. Dew could play an effect, the last couple of games say so. But the wicket will not change a lot. We are under no pressure, it already started a couple of games back. Unfortunately Saha misses out with an injury, Goswami replaces him. The trophy means a lot for us, the owners and the fans back home.

RCB sweat over Chris Morris’ injury, will he play against SRH?

Royal Challengers Bangalore are set to play against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2020 Eliminator on Friday and the team’s think tank will be worried about Chris Morris’ hamstring niggle.

In his last game against Delhi Capitals, Morris suffered an injury during his first spell and went out of the ground. He never returned to the field as Pawan Negi fielded as a substitute player.

The South African will be dearly needed in RCB’s bowling attack that has suddenly lost its sting but there’s still a big question mark over the all-rounder’s availability for the do-or-die game against SRH.

Meanwhile, RCB pacer Navdeep Saini, who missed the last game against DC with his hand injury, is likely to return for the Eliminator.

We are exactly one hour away from toss

Pitch conditions: The pitch at Abu Dhabi has been pretty balanced and has favored both the batsmen and the bowlers. Batsmen who have settled in will find it easier to play their strokes. The middle overs bowling from the spinners will be crucial in restricting the run flow

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH’s) opening batsman Wriddhiman Saha has been a revelation in IPL 2020 and a  gamechanger for the franchise. But just imagine in the first 11 games franchise played Saha was just played in 1 match.

Who will RCB open with tonight?- Josh Philippe or Aaron Finch

Josh Philippe, who has been brought in place of Aaron Finch, has looked good in patches but hasn’t been able to convert his starts and in all likelihood, Kohli might be tempted to bring back Finch on Friday.
