- Chennai Super Kings’ Dwayne Bravo was the first player to take 150 wickets and score 1000+ runs in the tournament.
- Sunil Narine needed 30 runs with the bat against SRH to get to 1000 runs. He however scored only 6 runs and got out to Natarajan in the third ball he played against SRH.
Sunil Narine has been a part of KKR right from 2012 and it is the only IPL franchise that he has played for so far. If he had picked those three wickets, he would have become only the second bowler in the history of IPL to take 150 wickets for a single franchise after Lasith Malinga. Malinga has taken 170 wickets in IPL, all for Mumbai Indians.
Narine was retained by KKR ahead of the auction this year for 6 crores. In the four matches so far, he has picked up four wickets at an impressive economy rate of 4.85. With the bat, he hasn’t got much opportunity. He played just two innings and has scored 16 runs so far.
