SRH vs DC in IPL 2021: Prithvi Shaw continues his top run, slams quickfire 50 on a difficult track, enters Orange cap race- Delhi Capitals opening batsman Prithvi Shaw has continued his top run in the IPL. On Sunday, he brought up his second fifty of IPL 2021 while playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has now gone past 150 runs in 5 innings to enter in the top 10 of the Orange Cap race. The 21-year-old completed his fifty off 35 balls which included 7 fours and a six.

” It was a good wicket in the first six overs and then it slowed down, but it was fine. I felt the wicket was behaving a bit slower, the spinners were bowling well. 160 was good enough to defend, but a close game. I am just doing all those stuff I have worked with. It’s helping me right now, so I think I should continue that. I didn’t think about it (Super Over) but Williamson played fantastic. He played a really good knock. Axar bowled really well in the Super Over. I wasn’t there, I knew Shikhar bhai and Pant would go for sure because Rashid was going to bowl for sure. So, they wanted Pant and Shikhi to go and hit,” Shaw said post match.

Shaw also shared a fifty partnership with Shikhar Dhawan.

The Delhi Capitals opener is coming on the back of an excellent Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. He has smacked 827 runs in the competition with the help of four tons. The 21-year-old also led Mumbai to glory in the 50-over contest.

Last season Prithvi Shaw had a forgetful run in the IPL. He had managed to score just 228 runs in 13 matches that included just 2 fifties. It included a number of single-digit scores. His failure forced DC to open with Ajinkya Rahane and Marcus Stoinis which did not work for DC.

Delhi Capitals were runners of IPL 2021 and Prithvi Shaw’s struggle at the top was a key reason behind their failure.

Shaw worked on his technique to reap rewards in the last few months.

“From Australia when I was dropped I was working from there itself, coming back and across early, so I practised before going to Vijay Hazare with Pravin Amre and worked on that. I had a good plan before going into that tournament, so it is working quite well. I don’t want to think about it (being dropped from the Indian side) because it was a disappointing moment for me but I have to move on and if something is wrong with my batting or technique, I have to improve and I am working hard on myself,” Shaw had said.
