CSA T20 League: Former South Africa batter JP Duminy is likely to be appointed as the head coach of Paarl Royals, one of the teams in South Africa’s new T20 League. The franchise is owned by IPL team Rajasthan Royals. Duminy is already the head coach of South Africa’s provincial team Boland Rocks and the 38-year old is soon to get the same responsibility for Paarl Royals, a franchise that represents Boland region. According to Rapport newspaper, while Duminy is expected to be named as the head coach of the Paarl Royals, Richard das Nes, who is former coach of the Easterners is likely to be appointed as his deputy. The franchise has already picked its four players ahead of the players auction.

Paarl Royals snapped up the South African duo of David Miller and uncapped allrounder Corbin Bosch, England’s white-ball captain Jos Buttler and West Indies pacer Obed McCoy. While Obed Mckoy and Jos Buttler are part of the Rajasthan Royals set up, the other two players too have been part of the inaugural IPL winners in the past.

All the six teams in the CSA T20 League are owned by the owners of IPL teams like Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians,  Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

While an official confirmation on Duminy’s appointment as head coach is awaited, Lance Klusener has already been confirmed as head coach of the Durban franchise, owned by the Lucknow Super Giants. Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming will coach the franchise-owned Johannesburg team.
