CSK vs GT Final: IPL 2023: Young batting sensation, Shubman Gill, has been invincible in this year’s IPL. The Gujarat Titans’ opener has already 851 runs this season which included three classy centuries in the tournament. Gill’s sensational season has reminded many fans of Virat Kohli’s 2016 season where the Royal Challengers Bangalore batter amassed 973 runs in 16 matches. Kohli is the first and only batter to touch the elusive 900-run mark in a single IPL campaign but young Gill has a chance to enter the super-elite list. Notably, Jos Buttler of the Rajasthan Royals sits in second place on the list of most runs scored in a single IPL season with 863 runs. The Englishman breached the 800-run mark in IPL 2022, where he played 17 matches, averaging an impressive 57.53, and notching up four centuries.

Australian batter David Warner is fourth on the list with 848 runs in 17 matches. Warner’s remarkable run-scoring spree came during the 2016 season when he represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Gill, who currently stands third on the list, needs 123 runs to breach Virat Kohli’s 973-run mark. With the form Shubman is carrying, it is quite possible for the batter to score another ton. Gill has a stunning record at Narendra Modi Stadium and a chance to break Virat Kohli’s record on the night of the final will provide more motivation to him.

MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja also eyeing few milestones

Apart from Shubman Gill, CSK skipper MS Dhoni and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also have a chance to complete a few milestones. While Dhoni will become the first player to appear in 11 finals when he will come out for the toss, Ravindra Jadeja will have the opportunity to complete 100 sixes in the cash-rich league. The all-rounder is hit 98 sixes so far in the tournament history.
