Earlier in an interview with a Pakistani news channel, Shaheen shared that it was his wish to marry Shahid’s daughter Ansha. “It was my wish and Alhumdulillah [thanks to Allah Almighty] it is fulfilled now,” a blushing Shaheen told the interviewer Sohail Warraich.
Last year, Shahid addressed reports talking about the union between the fast bowler and his daughter, and tweeted, “Shaheen’s family approached my family for my daughter. Both families are in touch […] matches are made in heaven, if Allah wills this match will be made too.” He ended his tweet with prayers for Shaheen “for his continued success on and off the field”.
To note, Shaheen got ruled out during the home games against England and NewZealand owing to injury. However, the left-arm pacer is expected to make a comeback soon.
Shaheen’s return to international cricket will be subject to the fast-bowler’s successful completion of the rehabilitation programme and following go-aheads by the medical staff. The lanky pacer will lead Lahore Qalandars during the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where his side are the defending champions.
Qalandars will begin their campaign for the eight edition of the tournament on February 4 in their home city. The six-day training camp will be held under the state-of-the-art facilities of Qalandars High-Performance Centre, Lahore. The whole Qalandars squad including the captain will feature in the camp which will conclude on February 9
