SCA to have indoor cricket stadium : Jaydev Shah

Saurashtra Cricket Association president Jaydev Shah has said that the State cricket body will have an indoor stadium where cricket can be played during all weathers.

“It is dream of my father Niranjan Shah, former BCCI secretary to have an indoor stadium, I will fulfil his wish,” said Shah, who was recently elected as SCA chief.

Speaking at a ceremony where the new office-bearers were introduced to the members, Shah said, “SCA has state of the art stadium and has been hosting all formats of cricket.

“Now the SCA has decided to have an indoor stadium for playing cricket in all weathers.”

Shah, son of veteran cricket administrator Niranjan Shah has been elected as the president of the Saurashtra Cricket Association on September 21.

A former first class cricketer, Shah has led Saurashtra in 110 domestic games – leading the team to the 2012-13 and 2015-16 Ranji Trophy finals besides winning the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

He had announced retirement from all formats of the games,before padding up for the next innings as a cricket administrator.
