Sachin opens new innings with Linkedin


Sachin Tendulkar, the man to inspire several generations with his willow and ability for prolific scoring on cricket field, will bat for business and employment oriented networking service Linkedin as an ‘influencer’.

Sachin after retiring from Cricket has been making some rounds in the entrepreneurial ecosystem as an investor as well. His profile tag line reads “Indian, Cricketer, Mentor, Change-maker”. The Master Blaster, who had hit billions of eyeballs in promotional commercials, is also featuring in his own biopic – Sachin – A billion dreams where he is playing his own character, with son Arjun appearing as the young Sachin.

As a LinkedIn Influencer, Sachin will join a select group that includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi, actress Priyanka Chopra, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and business leaders like Bill Gates, Founder Virgin Group Richard Branson, Arianna Huffington Founder and CEO Thrive Global, The Jack and Oprah Winfrey Network Chairman and CEO Oprah Winfrey, among others, LinkedIn said in a release.

“Being a part of a team and learning from each other has been an integral part of my development. I face multiple situations in organisations that I am involved with where my on-field learnings often benefit these organisations,” said Tendulkar. “My aim is to share these experiences on a platform, like LinkedIn, to reach a large number of professionals and entrepreneurs to give them get a different perspective and help better their everyday performance,” the right-handed batsman added.

In his first blog has described more about his ‘Spreading Happiness‘ project providing electricity to deprived areas. Arrangements to tap solar energy have been made in over 73 villages and nearly 25,000 people have been impacted by the same. The mission to ‘light up’ homes across the length and breadth of the country will continue.
