Chasing a target of 159, Australia Legends off to a poor start with Cameron White departing in the first over. However, Watson took charge with Callum Ferguson. The two added 70 runs for the second wicket with Australia reaching 71/1 in the powerplay. But with Watson departing in the 7th over, the scoring rate dipped.

But the slide did not stop there. Ferguson (24 off 20) followed with Nathan Reardon and Brad Hodge also departing in quick succession. Bangladesh spinners brought them back in the game with Australia down 90/5. George Harlin and John Hastings also fell cheaply.
Australia needed 44 runs in the last four overs and Brad Haddin took charge. With 11 runs off the 18th and Sharif fought back with just 5 runs in the 19th over. That left Australia with the equation of 21 runs needing off the last 6.
After a dot ball in the first ball of 20th, Haddin hammered Abul Hasan for a 6. But it was a no-ball from Hasan that changed things. A midfield on the no-ball gave Haddin the chance to retain strike with two runs. Haddin then smashed three consecutive boundaries off the last three deliveries to take Australia home.

Earlier, sent to bat, Bangladesh once again were off to a poor start. Within the first two overs, Bangladesh Legends were down 8/2. While Alok Kapali steadied the ship with 20 off as many balls, Bangladesh kept on losing wickets at regular intervals.
But it was Elias Sunny who took charge in the middle, smashing 29-ball 32 to keep things moving. In the end, it was Mohammad Sharif (14 off 10) and Dolar Mahmud (17 off 9) who helped Bangladesh Legends post a competitive total of 158/9. Barring Hodge, all Australian bowlers picked up a wicket each. But it was John Hastings who bowled 14 wides to help Bangladesh in the cause. In all, Australia gave away 39 runs extra.
