Rishabh Pant Car Crash: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued an update regarding Rishabh Pant’s injury status following the car crash. The BCCI is in ‘constant’ touch with Pant’s family, and they have promised ‘best possible’ medical care to the cricketer to get out of this traumatic phase. Pant had met with a car accident on early Friday morning. Before the accident the cricketer was asked to report to National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore due to fitness issue. BCCI statement on Rishabh Pant’s car crash

The BCCI in it’s statement said, “India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant met with a car accident early on Friday morning near Roorkee, Uttarakhand. He was admitted to Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre where he was treated for impact injuries”.

“Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.”

“Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment”.

“The BCCI is in constant touch with Rishabh’s family while the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors currently treating Rishabh. The Board will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase.”

How did Rishabh Pant meet with car crash?

Having failed to make it to the India squad for Sri Lanka series, Pant was coming from Delhi to Roorkee. But when his car reached Narsan town, it hit the divider on the road and subsequently caught fire. It s reported that the cricketer dozed off leading to the car crash.

Pant shattered the car window to get out however he suffered serious injuries. In the latest update, CCTV footage has emerged which shows how horrible was the car accident as the fire engulfed the Mercedes within seconds.

SP Dehat Swapan Kishore later confirmed the news stating: “Cricketer Rishabh Pant’s car met with an accident between Manglaur and Narsan in Haridwar district. He has been shifted to Max Hospital Dehradun after giving primary treatment at Roorkee Civil Hospital. Accident took place on NH-58 of Manglaur PS area.”

Chief Minister of Uttrakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami who is in Kolkata wished the cricketer a speedy recovery and that the state will extend all possible support to him including the facility of an air ambulance if required.
