REN vs STR LIVE highlights: Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers- Melbourne Renegades cruised to the BBL playoffs after 6 wickets win over Adelaide Strikers in the last match of the league stage. Strikers on the other hand were knocked out of the tournament. Chasing 143 for victory, Renegades were reduced to 16/3 in the third over. Skipper Aaron Finch and Matthew Critchley steadied the innings with a fifty partnership.

Following Critchley’s dismissal Strikers tried to make the comeback by bowling few tight overs. However Wells and Finch batted patiently to keep Renegades in the match. With ’24 runs needed off 18 balls the Reds took the Power Surge in which Finch smashed Agar for two fours and a six in an over. Wells applied the finishing touches with back-to-back boundaries off Siddle.

Strikers will be pleased with the performance with the bat especially after losing Short for a duck in the very first over. Captain Travis Head struggled for runs scoring 19 runs off 32 balls. The Strikers had reached 49/2 in the first 10 overs but the momentum change after they took the power surge. Strikers scored 30 runs off 2 overs losing just one wicket. Carey scored a fine half century before falling to Richardson in the 18th over. Harry Nielsen’s cameo in the final over ensured that his team crossed the 140-run mark.
