RCB vs RR in IPL 2021: Maxwell is part of RCB’s leadership group, says coach Katich- Royal Challengers Banglore received a much-needed boost in their middle order after the inclusion of Australian big hitter Glenn Maxwell in their team. The Big Show has smashed 176 runs in three games at an extraordinary average of above 58. RCB’s head coach Simmon Katich admitted that Maxwell is part of the team’s leadership group and is helping captain Virat Kohli during the game.

“Maxwell has been magnificent. He has a big role, first on the field helping Virat Kohli with field positioning and getting the right guys at the right positions at right time and he has really embraced that role,” Katich said in a video posted by RCB’s Twitter handle.
Maxwell had played a knock of 78 in RCB’s last match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and he would be hoping to continue his form.
RCB’s batting coach Sanjay Banger is also impressed with Maxwell’s performance in the last three matches. “The way Maxi went out and played was a very thoughtful innings by him because he gives a lot of thought to his batting. You could clearly see what plans he had in mind and he executed it on the field under pressure,” Banger said.
With the current form, Maxwell is also in the race for Orange Cap. He is placed second in the table just below Delhi Capitals’ Shikhar Dhawan.
RCB will now take on RR in their fourth game and will aim to remain unbeaten in IPL 2021.
