Chasing just 95 runs for victory, Delhi registered 8 wicket with Hrithik Shokeen staying unbeaten on 36 runs. Despite the loss Mumbai are very much in contention for a place in quarterfinal with one rounds till left to play.

In another match, Tamil Nadu and Bengal registered comprehensive win over Assam and Haryana to earn bonus point. Bengal went onto beat Haryana by an innings and 50 runs to continue to stay on top spot of Elite Group A. Anustup Majumdar’s magnificent century in first innings took Bengal to 410 run. Haryana after being bowled out for 163 runs in the first innings wer asked to follow on. Akash Deep bagged 5 wicket in second innings to bowl out Haryana for 206 runs in the second innings.

Andhra Pradesh meanwhile stunned Saurashtra by 170 runs on their own turf. Chasing 342 runs for victory in second innings, Andhra bowlers bowled out Saurashtra for 192 runs in the second innings. Cheteshwar Pujara missed out on century after getting out for 91 runs. A Lalith Mohan had the best figures of the match with 6/58. He finished with 11 wickets in the match after a fifer in the first innings.

  • Delhi vs Mumbai: Delhi with just five points, is fighting to avoid relegation, while Mumbai, with three wins, looks likely to qualify for the knockouts.
  • Tamil Nadu vs Assam: Tamil Nadu will look to finish the Ranji Trophy season positively in its last two matches against Assam and Saurashtra over the next two weeks. The team now has a new captain in R. Sai Kishore. With just eight points from five matches, Tamil Nadu will seek its first win of the season. Assam has 11 points, though the team is still in the competition mathematically, its chances are slim.
  • Saurashtra vs Andhra:  Saurashtra will be out to seal its Ranji Trophy quarterfinal spot. Placed comfortably atop the Elite Group B standings with 26 points from three wins and two draws, Saurashtra has emerged as the team to beat in a group.
