BCCI president on Thursday attended at an event hosted by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) in Bengaluru. Talking about his post, Binny told news agency ANI, “This is a post that goes well with me. I know exactly what is required in terms of school cricket where we are gonna work.”

“We are gonna work in areas like Ranji Trophy. Ranji Trophy in the last few years has lost that interest. It is a premier tournament. But not many people participate in it. We don’t have international cricketers playing in it. So they have to come and play in the tournaments to lift the standard of the tournament for young players. We are trying to work on that and get players back into the game to play Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Irani Cup and all other premium tournaments. We need to get them back again and make cricket enjoyable for youth,” he added.

In June this year, Madhya Pradesh created history and captured their maiden Ranji Trophy title, defeating favourites Mumbai in the finals by six wickets at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

This win was a historic one for Madhya Pradesh, as they captured their maiden Ranji title. The victory becomes even more significant because they defeated 41-time champions Mumbai.
