Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Tamil Nadu were in a spot of bother as they had lost openers Kaushik and L Suryapprakash for 27 and 21 respectively. Walking in at number three, Aparajith soaked up all the pressure and played according to the situation. He was ready to play the waiting game and played defensively. His twin brother Indrajith was in no mood to relent.

Indrajith took the attack to the opposition and carted the Chhattisgarh attack to all parts of the ground. He scored his runs at a strike rate of 90.07.

Meanwhile, Baba Aparajith will look to add more to his 101 on day two of the Ranji match. The 27-year-old is set on the crease and would be hoping to take Tamil Nadu above 400. On the other hand, Chhattisgarh would be hoping to make a comeback.
Indrajith’s form is a boost for KKR:
Baba Indrajith’s form will be a major boost for Kolkata Knight Riders, who bought the Tamil Nadu lad for INR 20 lakhs in the IPL 2022 auction. Indrajith has been a part of IPL auctions previously but was never sold until this edition, and given his form, it is clear why KKR wanted to include him on their roster. He scored 117 in his last Ranji Trophy game against Delhi, while in his last two List A matches, he has accumulated a combined 130 runs.
