PUBG: What is PUBG’s new mode “POBG” & How can you download it? On April Fool’s Day, a video was released mockingly on the official YouTube channel of ‘PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ that immediately became the talk of the town. The video featured a fast-paced 2D Arcade gameplay where a player has to survive against hordes of chicken. After everyone had their fair share of fun, it was revealed later that the gameplay isn’t just a joke. POBG is indeed a playable game that has been released as a special mode inside the original PUBG game.

According to an article by Gamer Rant, POBG, also known as Player Omnom’s Battlegrounds, is a 2D arcade-style shooter game that sets the players against hordes of chickens. The gameplay goes like this. Players have to survive waves of chickens using weapons & upgrades. Each game consists of several levels & each level comes with its own set of challenges. As players level up, they will also face chickens who carry their own upgrade as well. This is not any usual arcade game as POBG has dynamic crosshairs & bullet spread that will offer a fresh arcade game experience.

PUBG PC is not nearly as popular compared to its mobile counterpart. Although this fresh take implies that developers of PUBG PC are giving their all to keep the game fun & engaging. It’s not a fair comparison, but the POBG gameplay looks so exciting that it can give PUBG Mobile events a run for its money.

How to play POBG?

According to Ginx Esports, players can access the 16-Bit game from the upper left corner of the main menu, highlighted as POBG. The POBG option will take players to an ‘arcade-style screen where they can select the difficulty, view the controls and start the game’.

POBG mode will last from 1st to 12th April on PC, and from 8th to 19th April on consoles.
