It was certainly not an ideal start of the season for Islamabad United, the 2016 and 2018 PSL champions, as they failed to defend a 169-run target. Gladiators had romped home with nine balls and three wickets to spare.

In contrast, the Sultans will be fresh and upbeat from their absolute domination over Lahore Qalandars. The Multan outfit had romped home, consuming only 16 overs and a delivery for the loss of five wickets in chase of Qalandars 138 for eight.

Sultans have seasoned pro Sahid Afridi in their ranks, whose presence in the field adds pearls of wisdom to the team think tank.
