Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly was in the audience as they recently lost 2-0 against Tottenham Hotspur. According to reports, he is scheduled to make two more appearances and these times with another co-owner, Behdad Eghbali. They will be present at the director’s box for Chelsea’s next two home games – Premier League match against Leeds United and Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

The owners understand that the bloated number of players are causing problems in training tactics, dressing room morale, and team selection. They are still keeping faith in the coach to sort out these issues with time. However, many players are getting quite upset about playing time.

In their recent loss against Tottenham Hotspur, the coach omitted Carney Chukwuemeka, Trevoh Chalobah, David Datro Fofana, and Marc Cucurella from the squad. When asked, he called it “unfortunate” circumstances. His job is only going to be more difficult as Christian Pulisic and N’Golo Kante are now returning from injury.

There have been many instances of managers who have improved the team significantly given enough time. That could be the fairytale Chelsea owners are hoping for. However, only one win in 2023 and total 2 wins in 13 matches doesn’t exactly dictate fairytale ending for fans. Hence, the next two matches could turn out to be the most important ones for Graham Potter at Chelsea.
