Premier League: Fearless Stevie G claims he is ready to challenge himself against the best, in his latest pre-match press conference, when Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was asked about how he would overcome the challenges of managing in the Premier League, the former Reds captain boldly answered that, “we all accept it’s a tough and challenging league but that excites me rather than scaring me and I’m ready to prove I’m the right man for this job. “A lot of people will put added pressure on my shoulders, but I can’t wait. “This is where I want to challenge myself. “When I came through the ranks my dad said to me ‘Be fearless — front it’. I’m not going to change.

Gerrard who faces both Liverpool and Man City next month, told that he is fully committed to his new job and says he’s ready to take-on the best managers in league- Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp. Gerrard further went on say, “This is the best league in the world. It’s because the best teams are in there and the best coaches.”

Premier League: The former Liverpool captain is certainly one of the most exciting young English managers in game. After having an inspired time in the Scottish premiership with Rangers, during which Gerrard coached his team extremely well to break Celtics 9-year title winning streak, despite of limited financial resources Gerrard’s teams played beautiful and were always a joy to watch.

It would be interesting to see, if Gerrard will persist with the same possession-based style of play that he deployed at Rangers in the Scottish Premiership. Despite being in Europa League several times, Steven Gerrard’s team is yet come up against the Real top dogs of European football and that’s why tactical setup against the big guns of the Premier League will be even more engaging.

Gerrard takes center-stage this weekend on Saturday at 8:30 PM IST, as Aston Villa take-on Brighton in Matchday 12 of the Premier League. Steve G will be on the Premier League sidelines for the 1st time in his career.
