Tambe told that Dravid played a huge hand in his journey, and also never asked him about his age.
“Rahul Dravid has played a very important role in my journey. Whatever I am now, it’s because of him. During those two to three days of the trials, he never asked me about my age. He just looked at my performance and selected me. That’s a great thing about him,” Tambe told Sportskeeda in an interview.

Tambe further added that Dravid picked him despite not knowing he was 41 years of age. “I think Rahul bhai was surprised when he found out my age. One day, he told me at the breakfast table, ‘Pravin, I picked you despite not knowing your age. I’ve seen in the papers that you’re 41, but it doesn’t seem so’. (Laughs) That shows his greatness.
Dravid will be seen in the Pravin Tambe biopic titled Kaun Pravin Tambe? He has played a cameo in the movie. In the trailer that was released, the legendary cricketer can be seen sharing the inspiring journey of Tambe.
The former RR leg spinner defied odds and went on to fulfill his dream of playing cricket at the age of 41.
