Pokimane shared her thoughts on Twitch’s highly controversial ASMR meta: Controversial ASMR Meta is trending on the Amazon-owned streaming platform. Imane “Pokimane” Anys shared his views on this meta and Twitch’s actions on this meta where the platform is banning the streamers.
Twitch is going through heavy criticism from the community members where a new controversial trend is sweeping the platform like a storm. This is not the first time when Twitch faces heavy criticism from the community, in recent months Hot tub meta got show popular on the platform where everyone following the same meta and streaming while sitting on the hot tub. Pokimane also did a hot-tub meta stream where she memes the meta.
The ASMR or Yoga Pants meta is a new controversial meta that emerged after several famous streamers switched from Hot-tub Meta to ASMR Meta. Recently Amouranth and Indiefoxx also joined this meta after switching from hot tub meta which is their origin. Pokimane shared her views on this meta where she said,
“I feel really bad for legitimate ASMR artists,” she shared, and also pointed out that many of those creators likely feel quite jaded: “For people to come into your category and get to the top by doing the splits with their butt out and gurgling into a mic? It sucks, it’s unfortunate.”
She continued and warned, “I really hope it doesn’t get to that point with Twitch, if similar events unfold on Twitch, many top creators could be hopped into a category of “mature content” and lose out on ad revenue — regardless of their participation in these controversial metas.”
This lose-out ad revenue thing happened with many creators during hot tub meta streamers. Amouranth is the biggest example of this restriction where Twitch removed the ads from her channel and demonized her channel.
