Why should Odean Smith be replaced?
- While Odean Smith started the season on a terrific note by winning Punjab their first match of the season with the bat, his returns with the bat has slowly faded.
- He scored 25 runs in the first game but since then, he managed just 26 runs in 5 matches.

Who can replace Odean Smith?
- Rishi Dhawan has been performing consistently with both bat and the ball in domestic cricket for the last few seasons and he deserves a look in.
- In 2021-22 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he was the second-highest wicket-taker with 14 scalps in six matches, that includes a six-wicket haul.
- He is also handy with the bat and scored 117 runs in six matches with a strike rate of 127.17 in the tournament.
- Apart from Rishi Dhawan there is another option of England all-rounder Benny Howell, who has been performing well in T20 leagues across the globe.
If Odean Smith gets replaced by Rishi Dhawan, Punjab Kings will also have an option of bringing in Bhanuka Rajapaksa into the team in place of Shah Rukh Khan or Jitesh Sharma. Rajapaksa played just 3 games this season but scored 83 runs in those three games with a whopping strike rate of 230.55.
