Djokovic beat Medvedev Highlights – Djokovic wins Paris Masters: In a first Paris final to feature the top two players in the FedEx ATP Rankings since 1990, World No. 1 Djokovic needed to be patient to overcome No. 2-ranked defending champion Medvedev 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in two hours and 15 minutes. It was the 14th time this year that Djokovic has rallied from a set down to win.
The 34-year-old secured year-end No. 1 in the FedEx ATP Rankings for a record seventh time on Saturday by reaching the Paris final, and with his 48th match win of a standout season (48-6) breaks a tie with Rafael Nadal for most Masters 1000 titles.
Djokovic and Medvedev, who had beaten the Serbian in September’s US Open final, will next head to Turin for the ATP Finals to be held at the Pala Alpitour in Turin from 14-21 November.

Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev will be competing against each other in their third final matchof 2021, having previously faced off in the finals of the Australian Open and US Open finals. Daniil Medvedev meanwhile faces the World No.1 for the 10th time in his career, and the Russian has one of the most favourable records against the Serbian ace. Should he win and level the Djokovic vs Medvedev head to head score at 5-5, the 25-year-old would become the first of 30 players who have played 10 or more matches against Djokovic to achieve a 50 per cent winning record against the 20-time Grand Slam champion.
Speaking ahead of the Paris Masters Final, Djokovic was upbeat and hopeful of beating Medvedev on Sunday. He said, “Last time we played, he overpowered me. Hopefully, I’ll be able to turn the tables around this time.”
Medvedev said he was delighted at any opportunity to face the 20-time Grand Slam winner. He said, “When I was young I would watch him on TV. I remember the first encounter at Davis Cup. It was magical. It’s always a wide range of emotions when I play him.”
