PAK ENG WC Final: Pakistan vs England LIVE: In less than 24 hours, one of Pakistan and England will lift their 2nd T20 World Cup title at the MCG. “Congratulations to everyone. It was an incredible fightback and comeback. This only happens when there is unity. When you play for each other, it defines in the performance. Pakistan all but confirmed their exit with two last-over losses to India and Zimbabwe. However, an incredible turnaround helped them reach the final. Netherlands stunned South Africa, helping Pakistan reserve semifinal spot. Pakistan reserved their best for New Zealand in the semifinals, thrashing Kiwis by 7 wickets.

Pakistan Road to Final:

  • Super 12: Lost to India by four wickets at Melbourne
  • Super 12: Lost to Zimbabwe by one run at Perth
  • Super 12: Beat Netherlands by six wickets at Perth
  • Super 12: Beat South Africa by 33 runs (DLS method) at Sydney
  • Super 12: Beat Bangladesh by five wickets at Adelaide
  • Semifinal: Beat New Zealand by seven wickets at Sydney

“It’s a unified dressing room. There is a lof od good vibes and synergy now. Don’t worry about critical aspects of performance. In a way it’s good. Unlike hockey or other sports which have absolutely nosedived in Pakistan, there is still a lot of interest about cricket. If there is interest, there will be critical analysis. Some will go over the top but that should not stop us from performing,” Ramiz Raja told Pakistan team.

Against England though, Pakistan will be bracing for a tough outing against arguably world’s best T20 batting line-up. England bat till 8 and that is a cause for concern. The kind of form Jos Buttler and Alex Hales showed in the semifinals, ripping Indian bowling attack apart, they are ready to take on.

Buttler and Hales stitched together a record 170-run stand to thrash India. Although Pakistani bowlers are the best bowlers at present, they will be challenged. However, before a tense final, that is set to be marred by rain, Ramiz Raja’s simple message to the team is, “Go out there and enjoy.”
