England would want to play exactly like they did in the first game, which they won, to put it mildly, more than comprehensively. Their batters are accustomed to playing aggressive cricket with the white ball, so they have little trouble keeping up the pace in tests as well. Contrarily, New Zealand are in poor form and low spirits ahead of the match in Wellington’s Basin Reserve, where rain may affect the first two days of play. After defeating South Africa in Christchurch a year ago, the hosts have lost all seven of their Test matches, including a 3-0 thrashing in England in late June.
The 2nd Test will begin at 11:00 local time, which is 3:30 am in India.
