Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell and Will Young earn maiden ODI call
The New Zealand cricket selection committee picked as many as 3 new players in the ODI Lineup. They are Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell and Will Young.
While Conway showcased his ability against Australia in 5-match T20I series, Young slammed two tons for New Zealand XI against Australia XI in 2019, before surgery forced him to be away from the game.
Daryl Mitchell also comes on the back of a strong domestic season. He will be the third all-rounder in the squad along with Mitchell Santner and James Neesham. Other bowlers in the lineups include Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Matt Henry.
Meanwhile, Martin Guptill has passed the fitness Test.
“It’s certainly been a while since we’ve played ODI cricket, with just four games since the 2019 Cricket World Cup campaign,” said NZC selector Larsen.
“We’re now in a new World Cup cycle and our attention has turned to building towards the 2023 tournament in India,” he added.
