Last week Newcastle signed Kieran Trippier from Atlético Madrid for around £12m. But now it is claimed that Wood will join later this week to bolster their attacking options. The 30-year-old forward will travel to the northeast overnight to have a medical before signing on a contract thought to be for two-and-a-half years.
