NBA Free Agency 2020: NBA free agent point guard Rajon Rondo bid farewell to the LA Lakers, in a touching post on Instagram, that confirmed news about him leaving the franchise for the Atlanta Hawks.
Rajon Rondo was receiving interest from a lot of teams in the free agency market. His place in the Lakers’ roster was under threat after they brought in the Oklahoma City Thunder guard Dennis Schroder.
He was expected to decline his player option for $2.6 million with the Lakers to become a free agent.

Rondo had the Atlanta Hawks chasing after him, according to Brad Turner. He will now play for the Atlanta Hawks in the 2020-21 NBA season.
The 34-year-old was an indispensable member of the Los Angeles Lakers’ rotation during their postseason run to a 16th NBA title.
Rondo averaged 8.9 points, 6.6 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.4 steal off the bench for the LA Lakers last season. He also shot 40.0 percent from the three-point range in the playoffs.
