NBA Draft 2020: The Brooklyn Nets have 2 picks in the NBA Draft 2020. They acquired the 19th pick from the Philadelphia 76ers via Clippers in 2019 trade for rights to Mfiondu Kabengele. The 55th pick was acquired from the Denver Nuggets in a 2018 trade that sent Isaiah Whitehead to Denver.
The Nets have a new coach in Steve Nash. Mike D’Antoni recently joined as an assistant coach after leaving the Houston Rockets. For a team with Brooklyn’s aspirations, the goal is to make as many effective plays around Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving as possible.
The Brooklyn Nets need another playmaker who is more agile in their lineups if they wind up trading Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie.
3 prospects Brooklyn will be eyeing for in the NBA Draft 2020:
1. Josh Green (12.0 points | 4.6 rebounds | 2.6 assists | 1.5 steals)
Josh Green will bring a tremendous blend of athleticism and skill to the Brooklyn roster. He is also good from behind the arc and is an excellent defender.
The Australian averaged 12.0 points per game on 44.9 percent shooting inside the arc and 36.1 percent from the outside. His catch-and-shoot ability is outstanding, and he could serve as a decent spot-up shooter for the Nets.
2. Patrick Williams (9.2 points | 4.0 rebounds | 1.0 assists | 45.9 FG%)
Williams is a versatile 6-foot-8 forward from Florida State. He was previously projected as a late lottery pick. He is a good perimeter defender who is athletic on the offensive end.
Williams, 19, played just one season at Florida State and had decent numbers: 9.2 points, 4 rebounds, and 32 percent on 3-pointers. Even though the stats are not eye-popping, Williams is a developing prospect and has great potential.
3. Saddiq Bey (16.1 points | 4.7 rebounds | 2.4 assists | 47.4 FG%)
The Villanova forward vastly improved in his sophomore season, knocking down 45.1 percent of his attempts from downtown and being an excellent defender. He has proved he is a more than capable defender against both guards and forwards.
Bey can also shoot from outside the arc, averaging 45.3% from the 3 point line. He can function easily within the Nets’ offense, using his size and scoring.
Although he needs to improve his rebounding and passing, he is just 20 years old and will only improve under Steve Nash and Mike D’Antoni.
