Dallas Mavericks News: Mark Cuban’s take

Let me tell you how I look at coaching,” Cuban said. “You don’t make a change to make a change. Unless you have someone that you know is much, much, much better, the grass is rarely greener on the other side.

Carlisle, 61, has been the Mavs’ head coach since 2008. He’s put together a 513-448 record, including an NBA title in 2011.

He isn’t going anywhere,” Cuban said.

Dallas Mavericks News: Rick Carlisle’s statement

I thought through the course of it that there was a lot of growth, a lot of very valuable experience,” Carlisle said. “But losing is something we don’t like doing.

Now, the coach will get to work on making sure that growth does not go to waste as the Mavs work on retooling this offseason.

Dallas will need to build a team around Luka Doncic and hence the offseason moves must start.
