NBA 2020-21: The defending champions LA Lakers have won all of their NBA preseason matches. Here are 3 things the LA Lakers should do to defend their title in the NBA 2020-21 season.
LA Lakers News: They will only get seven weeks separating the end of the NBA Finals and the planned December 1 start of training camp. This gives the Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka and head coach Frank Vogel little time to put a team together.
The coming weeks will be jam-packed for the LA Lakers with the NBA Draft coming up on the 18th of November, the Free Agency starting on the 20th, and the training camps on December 1st. Their biggest priority this offseason will be to retain Anthony Davis as he is a Free Agent now.

Plus, the players will have less than half the time they would normally have to rest and recover from an arduous playoff run.
LA Lakers News: Strategy for the Lakers going into the 2020-21 Season:
- Investing in young talent:
The LA Lakers have the 28th pick in the 1st round of the NBA Draft. They could move out of the 1st round if they like the overall depth of this year’s Draft class or trade their pick. Finding a point guard, shooting guard, and center will be the priority going into the 2020-21 NBA Season.
- Assisting LeBron James:
King James is 35 years old as he enters his 18th season in the NBA. He will surely need more than 7 weeks to recover and get ready for the new season. The Lakers will have to figure out a plan to manage his minutes so as to have him at his strongest when the NBA Playoffs begin.
- Making moves in the NBA Free Agency:
If the Lakers decide to trade their pick in the NBA Draft, it will make sense for them to sign someone in the Free Agency. Although, it will be tough as the new player will not have enough transition time to get comfortable in their culture and system. Lakers will also have to keep an eye on their salary cap. Both Chris Paul and Jrue Holiday seem like a good move for the LA Lakers if they want to continue their Championship run.
