However, Kieron Pollard won’t be wearing Mumbai Indians jersey in IPL anymore. He has retired from IPL. Instead, he will return in a new avatar. Pollard will be Rohit Sharma & Co’s batting coach. As for Rashid Khan, the star Afghan spinner plays for Gujarat Titans in the IPL.
Rohit Sharma: The Indian captain owes his rise as a captain to Mumbai Indians. Since taking over from Ricky Ponting in 2013, he has led the Mumbai boys to 5 IPL titles. With 4,709 runs in 178 innings at an average of 30.19, Rohit is not just Mumbai’s top scorer, he is one of the top scorers of IPL.
Kieron Pollard: But he always had Kieron Pollard by his side. The former West Indies captain had been the leader of Mumbai Indians in Rohit’s absence. A one-team man, Pollard has also shared five IPL titles besides two Champions League T20 titles.
In fact, Pollard has been with Mumbai Indians longer than Rohit Sharma. Since joining in 2010, Pollard has played 189 matches for the side, scoring 3412 runs besides scalping 69 wickets.

Rashid Khan: Mumbai Indians would have hoped to rope in Rashid Khan in IPL. But it was Gujarat Titans who signed a pre-season contract with the Afghan spinner. However, MI have finally got him onboard for the inaugural SA20 League in South Africa.
With 112 wickets in 92 IPL, he is one of the best spinners in the league. But globally, he has established his aura. A traveller, playing in almost all the franchise leagues, Rashid is always in demand. With 486 T20 wickets, he is only behind a handful names. In T20Is, he already has 122 wickets in 74 matches and has Tim Southee and Shakib Al Hasan in his sights.
