Sachin Tendulkar will remain the chartbuster, when the business is cricket. Same applies to the big fat pay packets of the Indian Premier League coaches. The rewards for the 50-day job run up to rupees five crores.

Interestingly enough, Sachin is also playing his innings as the IPL mentor of the Mumbai Indians team on his own terms. During IPL 10, Sachin has committed appearances only of the MI home matches.

Coaches’ packages have seen an exponential rise in 10 years of IPL. The first season of IPL started in 2008, which saw an average salary of around Rs 40 lakh for the coaches. The values in 10 years have grown 10 fold.

As a coach, former India captain Rahul Dravid with his Rs 4.5 crore deal with Delhi Daredevils is enjoying the best package this season.

Other team coaches earn in the bracket of Rs 2.5 to Rs 3.5 Crore. Brad Hodge, former Australian player and Gujarat Lions’ coach is the lowest paid coach. With his earning just amounting to be around Rs 70 Lakh.

Some of the assistant coaches too have contracts running up to Rs 1.4 crore for the season.
With inclusion of more teams, next season of IPL is bound to be longer. No doubt, the lucrative package are set to grow further.
