Veteran Stuart Broad jumped up to 6th in the list for most Test wickets after the Englishman struck in the 1st session on Day 2. After toiling hard on Day 1, the 36-year-old finally struck on Saturday, dismissing Mohammed Shami for his 550th scalp in Test cricket.
Among pacers, only teammate James Anderson and Glenn McGrath have more Test wickets. Broad is on track to break the Australian legend’s tally, being only 13 wickets shy of his record.

The record came at a huge price as Broad latter bowled the most expensive over in test cricket. Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah took the attack to the English veteran, slamming 3 sixes and as many boundaries, while Broad also gifted 5 wides.

The previous record was for 28 runs, with Keshav Maharaj, Brian Lara, George Bailey all having reached that mark. Incidentally, Broad now has the most expensive overs in Test and T20Is, having conceded 36 to Yuvraj Singh back in 2007.
