Virat Kohli put on a show in Chattogram as the Indian start smashed a fine century in front of a packed crowd. The 34-year-old in lieu of Ishan Kishan put India in the command batting first on Saturday. It is Kohli’s first ODI century since ODI 2019 and will come as a huge relief to his fans and the team management.
It was Kohli’s 72nd international century since making his debut in 2008. Kohli tied with Ricky Ponting at 71 with his century in the Asia Cup earlier this year. Now Virat is clear of the former Australian captain, with only Sachin in sight.
Kohli scored his 70th ton back in November 2019 but hit a slump for the next 30 months. He only returned to form after a break in August, scoring a century against Afghanistan in T20Is.
