Portugal’s head coach decided to give Goncalo Ramos the chance to start while Ronaldo was benched in the pre-quarterfinals against Switzerland. Ramos reciprocated his coach’s trust by scoring the first hat trick of the Qatar World Cup as Portugal destroyed the Swiss with a humiliating scoreline of 6-1.
Aiming to replicate the same feat, Fernando Santos started Goncalo Ramos from the start against Switzerland. Ronaldo however, featured in the previous game when he came from the bench in the last quarter of the game. It can therefore be expected that Santos will try to implement the same strategy against Morocco.

Portugal made just one single change to their starting XI to the team that featured in the previous game. In the heart of the midfield, Ruben Neves gets the nod ahead of William Carvalho. As for the attacking front is concerned for Portugal, Bruno Fernandes will operate as the No.10 while Joao Felix and Goncalo Ramos will be the upfront strikers.
On the other hand, Morocco’s Walid Regragui was forced to reshuffle his defence after Nayef Aguerd and Noussair Mazraoui were ruled out due to injury. The absence of both is a big setback, with Yahia Attiat Allah replacing Mazraoui at left back and Jawad El Yamiq replacing Aguerd.
