MI vs RR in IPL 2021: Trent Boult reveals his role in Mumbai Indians squad ahead of clash with Rajasthan Royals- Mumbai Indians is one of the most successful teams in the history of IPL, with five trophies in their cabinet. One of the most important reasons behind MI’s enormous success in the last few years is that the team mangement helps every player in the squad to find out his role in the team. Talking on the same topic, MI’s lead pacer Trent Boult expressed that his role in the side is pretty clear, he is excepted to take early wickets and give his side a solid start.

“My role here is very clear I need to get early wickets and give my side a solid start that’s what I like the most,” Boult said in a video posted by MI’s Twitter handle.

The New Zealand pacer has taken 31 wickets for Mumbai in 20 games that he has played, with the best of 4/18 against Chennai Super Kings last year. His economy is just below 8 which is decent as he bowls mostly in the powerplay. Boult averages just below 20 for Mumbai Indians.

“IPL is the biggest tournament in the world. It’s an incredibly big stage to be on and I feel very lucky to be here. Mumbai Indians is a great franchise to be part of. Some big names here and it’s exciting. Yeah, I was lucky to be a part of a little bit of success in 2020. But it’s an evolving format. Where you have to keep getting better. Because guys work you out really quickly. So, history is history and It’s about creating some more memories. And some more history in this jersey. I know that the guys are really excited to do that,” he said.

Boult was the third-highest wicket-taker in IPL 2020. Mumbai won the last year’s IPL and have a clear shot at becoming the first IPL team to clinch a hat-trick of title.

“I suppose you can’t get too high when you are winning and you can’t get too low when you are losing. It’s probably about staying as steady as possible. I really like to get away from the game when I can. I try not to lock myself in the room too much,” he concluded.
