Man United’s €60m target set to complete MILITARY SERVICE before Premier League move

Kim Min-jae is linked with a transfer to Manchester United this season, but before joining the Premier League club, he will be completing military service in South Korea.

South Korean defender Kim Min jae will be completing his mandatory military service for his country before joining his next club. The Napoli defender is on the transfer target list of many clubs, including Manchester United. United are the front runners to sign the defender after the player showed interest in joining the Red Devils. However, before that, he will have to complete military service for his country.

Min-jae made the headlines at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar after he played a crucial role for his team. The South Korean squad defeated Portugal in the group stage to advance to the Round of 16, only to lose against Brazil. But, in the three games he played, Min jae left his impressions.

After the World Cup, the 26-year-old continued his good form at Napoli, where he was signed only a year ago as a replacement for Kalidou Koulibably. While playing in more than 3000 minutes for Napoli, who won the Serie A title after 33 years, the South Korean defender was standing as rock solid in the back. Moreover, his passing and ability to win ariel duel against big strikers makes him more special.

As a result, many teams are in the line to trigger his release clause, which is around €60 million (£52m/$64m), and sign the player. His contract with Napoli is valid till 2025. Manchester United might be the one to secure Min jae’s services next season. However, the only problem which lies ahead in the road is his unavailability.

Min jae will be completing compulsory military service during the break. Moreover, he will also be missing the friendlies game against Peru and El Salvador for his national team during the break.
