Major Updates you must know about before you play Battlegrounds Mobile India: While PUBG Mobile suffered a banned period of ten months in India, the global version was flooded with new content and exciting gameplay changes. Although Battlegrounds Mobile India, the rebranded version of PUBG Mobile, does have all those features included in the game, many BGMI users might face difficulties in identifying & understanding them, especially when they were barred from accessing the game for almost a year.
Today, Battlegrounds Mobile India posted an update on Social Media to get BGMI users up to speed with all that’s changed in the game. Here, in this article, we have discussed these new features in detail.
As posted by the officials, the first update is the M1014 – Shotgun which was added shortly after the ban of PUBG Mobile in India back in 2020. This devastating shotgun can be found exclusively in Livik. Players can also try this gun out in the Inventory mode & decimate all the opponents. M1014 has a much higher fire rate compared to the other shotguns in the game and has manageable recoil. On top of that, with its impeccable damaging power, you can one-tap your opponents within 10 meters of range.
Another Livik exclusive AR named FAMAS was also added recently. Unlike M1014, using this gun is not a piece of cake as FAMAS has extremely high recoil & not a convenient weapon in long-range combats. However, this gun performs slightly better in close range but may bring you down because of its short magazine capacity. As a result of its high fire rate, its default 25 round 5.56 magazine runs out in a blink of an eye. That said, with an extended mag equipped, the 35 round magazine can provide a better overall performance in close-range combats compared to other ARs in the game.
Spike trap was introduced in the game with the 1.9.1 Update on PUBG Mobile Global. This item can be found on classic maps & comes in handy especially for bridge camping. You can set the spike trap at any location on the ground. If a vehicle runs over a laid Spike trap, it will instantly destroy the vehicle tires, leaving the passengers exposed in the middle of the road for an easy takedown.
The Mosin Nagant – Sniper Rifle was added in the PUBG Mobile global version with the 1.3 Update. The bolt action sniper rifle that uses a 7.76 magazine, sports a higher fire rate (faster reload speed in between shots) that makes it a class apart from other snipers in the game. The sniper can be found on most of the classic maps as regular loot.
Other Battle Royale upgrade includes Throw Melee Weapon feature to deal damage to enemies out of reach. You can also Mark Waypoints using the minimap now to highlight a perfect rotation path across the map. Another latest mechanic added in the custom layout is the OTS – Over The Shoulder shooting feature. Upon tapping this button, the camera zooms in a little & gets fixed on an angle over the character’s shoulder. This offers players higher accuracy with the crosshair at the cost of reduced movement speed. Nevertheless, this feature is certainly not a game-changer as well as quite neglected by Esports players.
Further updates include ‘Updated Weapon Expression’ as the developers slightly changed the looks & mechanics of iron sights & scopes of a few guns to deliver a more realistic gun-fight experience. There also some UI/UX changes & also added a feature that allows players to share the Layout & Sensitivity settings to others via a code.
Apart from all these, there were a lot of patch updates that nerfed & buffed many items in the game. You can those details on the PUBG Mobile Official website. The all-new 2×2 Karakin map was also added during the ban period. The desert map full of cliffs & hangers is now available in Battlegrounds Mobile India. There were other significant gameplay changes that were implemented in BGMI that includes the removal of the Red Hit marker, death animation & usage of less aggressive words like ‘Defeated’ instead of ‘Killed’. All these to avoid any objections of violence & mature content in the game.
